Accidentally press standby mode instead of shutdown.now my pc cannot boot up..power is on,fan all working, check KB and mouse on other pc,ok. Any KB shortcut or procedure so i can get out of standby mode..using a DIY desktop.Thanks.
Shut the power off to the PC(unplug the power cord) press and hold the power switch several times to remove any resudial power, replug and start, if it still does not start it's not in standby mode and will require further troubleshooting.
its a DIY PC.
MB- Asus M2N6B-AM PLUS
PROCESSOR- AMD DUAL CORE(FORGET THE SPEC)
VIDEO CARD- ASUS EN9500 GT
PS- COOLERMASTER 450W
1PC KINGSTON HYPER-X 2GB
Lets try a CMOS clear, there's a jumper on the board down on the bottom edge, unplug the power press and hold the power button several times, move the jumper cap(probably Blue in color) from pins 1 & 2 to pins 2 & 3 wait 10 seconds and move it back, replug the power and see if it boots.
Seems like there is a problem with my power supply..when doing the continuity and isolate(unplugged the pc from AC) my PS, i get a reading og 48 to 49 OHMS with respect to my ground(black wire) and my 5V(red wire).
i need to check with the store(still under warranty) my PS.
i will update you again.
Thank you very much.More Power.
I would suggest asking the retailer of the PSU if they would credit you for yours and let you pay the difference to replace it with a better quality 550W or more.
