On my desktop, there is "AOL for Broadband". When I left click on the thing to get rid of it, there is no option for it. The only options there are: open, browse, explore, and create shortcut. The icon is broken since I uninstalled AOL. I tried to drag it to the recycle bin...nothing. I went into Windows Explorer and tried to get rid of it from there....nothing. UGH!

What am I doing wrong?

((OK...so force of habit made me post it here when REALLY, I have XP now!!!))

When you tried to delete it via explorer, did you just go to "Desktop" (Folder up from My Computer) Or did you go to the proper path (C:\Documents & Settings\User\Desktop) ?
