I was running a Maxtor 250gb SAta HDD which was fulling up fast so i bought a
Hitachi 1TB Sata HDD. Now i want to copy my files from the old one to the new but everytime i try the PC Freezes and the shuts down. Then when it restarts it is not detecting the old HDD. Everytime i try to copy i get the same problem. I can see and access both HDD and i can even save files to the new one whenever i get the pc to restart properly but i just cannot move the files from the old one to the new. By the way i am running a ASUS P5KC MB, Vista SP1 32 bit OS.

Try to copy the files in small amounts.

I tried that and the only way it does not shut down my pc is if i d the files one by one and we are talking about 184gib if information. plus when i try to move a movie it shuts down still.
