OK, so this is a bit of a surprise to me. I have been playing on LIVE for over a year with no problems. Then, a few days ago, I turned on my Xbox and for some reason it wouldn't connect me to Xbox LIVE. I went to my computer to see if my Internet was still working and it was. That is, except for xbox.com (which includes support.xbox.com).
So this is the problem: I can't sign in to Xbox LIVE or Xbox.com. Whenever I try on my PC, I get a "Problem Loading Page" message from Firefox. The server at halo.xbox.com is taking too long to respond. On my Xbox, I get an MTU error. It says my MTU setting is not high enough.
So I went to my Gateway thing (router is ActionTek, ISP is Verizon) and checked out the MTU. It's at 1500. I went ahead and opened ports, enabled DMZ, changed the MTU setting, changed it back, etc. etc. No changes. I turned off the router for 5+ minutes to get a new IP address and turned it back on again, once with the computer on and once with just the Xbox on. Still no luck.
I'm pretty sure it's not a problem with my Xbox, or my router.
Then I thought it might be an issue with my computer. I cleared cookies, cache, pretty much everything. That didn't do anything either.
I'm out of ideas. Does anyone know how to resolve this? Once again, I've had no problems like this for over a year of using LIVE. Thank you all for your help.
