Cannot boot up computer, getting an error.

Hello,

I had my computer on upstairs while I was eating and the power shut off and I went to the computer and it turned on but gave me a message windows cannot start because file windows/system32/config/system is missing or corrupted. I have been all over the internet on this other computer and all I found is using a recovery cd or the windows cd, which I no longer have either, is there another way to fix this or should I try to borrow a friends windows cd?

Thanks!

You would need to recover the crucial Windows files in order for the computer to boot itself. So yes, try to borrow a friends windows CD
