I need to make an adjustment to my BIOS but when I start the PC, Win 10 will not let me press the F2 key to access the BIOS as I used to do on previous win versions. My motherboard is a ConRoe945G-DVI.

Prior to upgrading from win 7 to win 10, I was able to use my headphones attached to my PC using the AC97 front audio panel. I need to access the BIOS setup, advanced settings, chipset configuration. Thank you.

ensure that windows 10 actually shuts down, a friend was having the same problem a short while ago, and the problem was that win10 went into sleep or hibernate instead of actually shutting down. set it to shut down and it worked fine.

If computer is sleeping, it boots directly into windows no matter what you do the bios keys F2 or Del will do absolutely nothing on wake-up. They only work before OS starts loading.

Edit, the keys only work for accessing bios before anything else takes over. If w10 is sleeping, there is no 'pre-boot' to access the bios.

Thank you all for all your help. Very helpful. I am impressed.

However, when I press on Power and select Shut Down the Pc shuts down very quickly and yes when it starts, it starts from hibernation.

You may also wanna disable fast start-up which is turned on by default. Open Control Panel and search for "power button". Click on "Change what the power buttons do" option (which is under Power Options) and then click on "Change settings that are currently unavailable". This will activate greyed-out options. Scroll down to the Shut-down settings section and uncheck the first option. Save changes and shut down the PC then turn it on. See if the POST screen shows and you are able to enter BIOS setup.

Sounds like Power Button is set wrong and should be set for "sleep" or "shutdown" in Power Options and I always disbable hibernate as it has never worked right.

I wish to thank everyone for your excellent help. I have disabled the hibernate option and I was able to access the bios and I have my headphones working again.

Brillant. Thank you all once again.
