Can someone help me, I recently bought a Compaq SR2170NX. It came with Windows Vista was installed, I wanted to use Windows XP. So i reformated i couldnt connect to the internet, So looked for Xp drives. The HP website only has Drivers for Vista, I couldnt find any drivers for XP. When i looked in Device Manager there were a few driver Problems.

In Device Manager the driver Problems are labled

-PCI Device
-PCI Simple communications controler
-SM Bus controler
-Video controler (VGA compatable)

Would someone Please help me with these Problems?

We would need to know the specs of your computer to help you find drivers.

Video controller (VGA compatible) - could litteraly be hundreds of different cards. Not to mention the # of possible PCI Devices. Post back with some of the specs (video card, sound card, network card) that should be in the documentation from when you purchased the computer.

OMG i got all the DRIVERS WORKING !!!!! ... BUT it is still not allowing me to access the internet... it keeps saying limited or no connectivity. I think XP assigned drivers to it that does not belong to the intagraded Lan.

Did you get the internet to work? I'm doing the same thing you did (installing xp on my Compaq SR2170NX). I still need drivers for the following two devices and can't connect to the internet (network card says limited or no connectivity)

-PCI Device
-PCI Simple communications controler

Did you get yours working? Where did you get all the drivers? Thanks.
