:upset: I have a similar problem. Never before have I not been able to boot up a computer via a CD or into Windows. I am working on a emachine t3256 for my cousin. I can not get into the BIOS to change the boot option. I am very close to telling my cousin that this is scrap metal. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

reset the cmos
In other words.

Remove the CMOS battery and wait 10 mins or if your motherboard has one move the CMOS reset jumper for 1 min then put it back to its original place.
