The "No Printing Alignment page" msg has been scrolling for about 1 hour.

Also, my C5280 HP Photosmart is no long listed in control panel.

Re-install the printer driver from the supplied CD, or if you've mislaid it you can download it from the HP support website for your country. The UK website is here:
HP Support & Drivers | United Kingdom

If you need to change the country, click the flag at bottom-left and an interactive world map will appear.

Be sure to observe the correct installation procedure as if installing the printer for the first time:

Unplug usb cable and switch off the printer.
Commence driver installation.
When prompted, plug in the usb cable and switch printer on.
