C:\windows\assembly repost on rec.
on my Win2K machine I have
MyComputer/explore navigate to c:\winnt\assembly in left pane and see
c:\
|-Winnt
|-Assembly
|-Download
But on my XP machine I have
c:\
|-Winnt
|-Assembly
|-Download
|-Download
|-Download etc too many levels to track
I am concerned about crosslinked directories, chkdsk /f found no problem;
OTOH, explorer (and maybe chkdsk) are showing things not as they are. If I try to examine these directory entries from cmd window I get this on Win2K
cd\windows\assembly
dir
results in listing 3 directories, GAC, Native Images1, and temp
(no download) on the XP machine its GAC, Native Images1, Native Images2, temp, and tmp.
Should I continue to be concerned or this quirky but cool?
