I have a question. I was wondering how to install a divx codec into the xp media player without going through a windows installation process. Can i just copy a file i previously installed from my previous XP divx 5.02 codec from the /windows/system32 folder back into my next clean install?

any help would be appreciated. thanks

I'm pretty sure Divx has registry entries, so you'd have to update those too.... so I suggest you stick with the version you have if you want to avoid an install... Is there a problem with the MS install, or do you just not like it....

I hate the player AND xp but I am not using linux right now, so i was wondering how to bypass everything, seeing as you can bypass aim and winamp. If i cannot bypass wmp, do you know of a divx player that requires no install?
