Hi everyone,

I recently bought a new set of headphones (ATH m50), however, when I want to use them for gaming on my xbox 360 - which is connected via HDMI cable - I get a buzzing/static sound in the left ear when I connect the headphones to my monitor's audio output (perhaps as a result of a ground loop?) I've used a variety of headphones in the past for this task, most of which were very cheap or generic, and I've never come across this problem. I've also used my ath m50s to connect to my PC speakers, phone and ipod with no problems.

If anyone has any ideas as to what might be the problem, it would be greatly appreciated.

Last night I tested it with a set of generic apple earphones as well as a set of speakers. Both had the static noise. When I connected my headphones to the speakers, the noise was still there, albeit quieter.
