Hey everyone,

I'm gonna be buying a new 1TB Western Digital hard drive but I can't decide between the three different lines that they offer: Black, Blue, and Green.

Black - 7200 RPM, 64MB Cache, 6GB/S
Blue - 7200 RPM, 32MB Cache, 3GB/S
Green - 5400 RPM, 64MB Cache, 3GB/S

Questions: Would a 5400 RPM drive be noticeably slower than a 7200? How important is cache size? How important is the transfer rate, and is 6GB/s really necessary?

EDIT: Blue and Green are about $20 cheaper than the Black model...I'm leaning toward Green at the moment.

The green drive is designed to save power. Depending in what you are doing, you may notice a slight difference in speed. Gaming or hi def video most likely. The 6Gb/s ( Gigabits not bytes ) is Sata 3, unless yo have Sata 3 capability on your machine, the drive will run at 3Gb/s. 32MB of cache is plenty, again unless you do a lot of gaming and heavy HD access type of stuff.

Is it worth it to sacrifice the 7200 RPM (Blue) for the 64MB Cache (Green)? (I've eliminated the Black) In other words, which is more important? I use it for gaming, 3D design, multimedia, pretty much everything.
