Is /dev/cdrom your cd burner?

And are you doing this (the mountung specifically) as root?

Also mount needs two arguments, the location of the device (/dev/cdrom) and the folder where you want to mount it (/mnt/cdrom)

Yes /dev/cdrom/ is my cd burner.

In fact its a DVD burner, but yesterday I use
growisofs -M /dev/cdrom -r -J /home/files
without a problems

then I use <mount /mnt/cdrom> to use <ls -la> to check cd data, after that I cant use growisofs. All of that as root user.

Thanks....

Well that means that /dev.cdrom was already mounted. If you mount it twice you cause problems

I would first do
Code:
umount /dev/cdrom
I don't think that needs the location

and then re-mount it with
Code:
mount /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom
Or mount it where ever you wish
Things should work again after that

Thanks so much....Ive another doubt....for other backup I run a script to burn information <burn.sh>
This script contains the media type, the info (folders) to backup, and other instructions, my doubt is if I umount cdmedia and then mount it again, could I affect or modify the functionality of this script ?? Maybe the script didnt find cdmedia (drive) anymore.
