As my title says I will be building a gaming rig on budget. By budget I mean upto $500.

For this build I will be using some of the parts from my existing PC, that will help me keep the total cost down.
Parts that I will be re-using:
- DVD ROM
- Hard drive IDE
- 5.1 Creative Sound card
- Wireless PCI card
- Power Supply
- OS
- PC case
- 5.1 Headphone

I did some research and figured I will need a kick *** GPU followed by decent CPU and mobo.
My list:

GPU:
Either GeForce 8800 GTS
http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3296600&CatId=2514
$330
or
EVGA 8600 SC
http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0665000FS10088598&catid=
$190

CPU:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+
http://www.canadacomputers.com/main.php?do=ShowProduct&cmd=pd&pid=012775&cid=CPU.907
$70.00

Mobo:
MSI K9N4 SLI-F Motherboard
http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2896645&CatId=2414
$110.00

Memory:
DDR2 PC2-6400 800MHz Platinum XTC 2GB
$50.00

8800 GTS: $330
AMD X2 4000: $70
MSI mobo: $110.00
Memory: $50
Total: $560 +tax

EVGA 8600 SC: $190
AMD X2 4000: $70
MSI mobo: $110.00
Memory: $50
Total: $420 +tax

So what do you guys think??? Will I be able to play next gen. games on my pc with either of those setup?????

BTW my hard drive is IDE, will i be able to connect it to that mobo or do i need a SATA HD???

well I already purchased the PSU mentioned in my post...Got it for cheap, but I will upgrade in future when i do SLI..

BTW this is the right mobo that i bought, above link takes to wrong location.
http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/PID-MX16204(ME).aspx

So i hooked up everything; Memory, CPU, GPU, PSU, Hard drive, DVD ROM
Now when i power it up, nothing appears on the monitor. It just stays in stand by mode...
I don't hear any beeps or anything like that....everything seems to be working, fans, GPU, hard drive..etc etc

I have installed the 8600 GTS card and that's what i m using for video out...

so wat could be the problem????
BTW the PSU is 20 pins and then 4 pins separate...So i first hooked up 20pins and 4pins in the remaining slot...
