Hi

I am a massive computer novice, know the basics but thats about it.

i am using a toshiba L500 1ZC running on windows 7. recently i have been experiencing with everything on the laptop (not responding) which has moved on to the BSOD. this has happened more and more and has finally given up. the laptop rarely switches on anymore....if it does manage to switch on then it doesnt last long and constantly freezes (not responding)
i can start up in safe mode and a virus scan has fixed 2 minor problems. please can anyone offer any help or should i just take it to a shop?

any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

I believe you could still be infected. You stated you can boot in Safe Mode with no issues and your removed two viruses. One of the first signs of infection is there is no problems in safe mode. I recommend going to "Virus Help Instruction" in my signature follow all instructions to the letter.

hi

unfortunately although i am getting further in 'safe mode' i am having the same problems. it seems that it has decided to die altogether now and will not switch on at all, it goes through the start up and repeats its prompts or gets all the way and freezes for about 10 mins before re booting and going back to the beginning of switch on. thanks for the above help and if it decides to switch on then ill definately give it a go.
