Hi,

I am having issues with receiving BSOD when using IE on Windows XP SP3.

It does not happen as soon as I launch IE but when I am using it.

I received the following msg in the event log:

Error code 1000008e, parameter1 c0000005, parameter2 00000000, parameter3 a9d8f5f8, parameter4 00000000.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x1000008e (0xc0000005, 0x00000000, 0xa9d8f5f8, 0x00000000). A dump was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini050209-02.dmp.

I can use Firefox ok, just not IE. Any help woud be appreciated.

which IE version are you using ? seems like you need to do a repair of your IE ...try and redown IE. probably your current version got corrupted by malware or a virus. try the below tips:

Reinstall IE6

There are some cases where it is necessary to keep Internet Explorer 6. This is normally in corporate environments where compatibility is an issue. In this case, you can reinstall IE6 by going to Start>Run and typing %systemroot%\inf. Hit OK and then you should be able to scroll down until you find IE (or IE.inf). Right-click and select Install. You may be asked to insert your Windows CD at this time.

Reinstall or Repair IE7

Internet Explorer 7 makes it easier to reinstall and repair IE7. To do this, Open IE7 and go to Tools>Internet Options>Advanced and scroll down to the bottom of the Window and click the reset button.
