First off, thanks for trying to help =]

Pretty much I have a BSOD with the following -

STOP: c0000218 {Registry File Failure}
The registry cannot load the hive (file):
\SystemRoot\System32\Config\SOFTWARE
or its log or alernate.
It is corrupt, absent, or not writable.

Beginning dump of physical memory
Physical memory dump complete.
Contact your system administrator or technical support group for further assistance.

I got this BSOD after a blackout, when trying to reboot.
I can't get passed this BSOD, and I've tried Recovery Console, but it asks for a password I've never set...
I've also tried Safe Mode, Last Working Config, none work and they just bring me back to the BSOD.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks Again

Mike.

Hello Mike

When the Recovery Console asks for a password, try just pressing ENTER

Some OEM manufacturers such as Dell use Sysprep to preinstall Windows on a computer. Sysprep sets a password other than the default blank. So either this is your problem or you have forgotten the password you set.

The only other way I know to fix the error without using the Recovery Console is to slave the drive in another machine
