Keep on getting errors IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and PAGE FAULT IN NON PAGED AREA.

Have tried running memtest but results in BSOD.

Also this happens much more frequently when the computer is gaming or streaming a video or something. I'm running Vista, btw.

Any ideas?

Thank you.

(Edit: Just saw forum sticky with posting protocol will brb with more details.)

26 memory dumps - that's gonna take a long time!!!

You have 220 updates after SP2 - most systems have 250-300 after SP2. Please check Windows Update for additional updates.

What sort of memory test are you running? AFAIK, there's no such thing as a BSOD from the majority of memory tests (they're Linux based).

Will post back when the memory dumps are finished running.....

26 memory dumps
12 different BSOD error codes
at least 12 different causes are blamed
Looks like a hardware problem to me.
We've ruled out most incompatibilities and low-level driver issues from the reports in the upload - so the next step is to start with hardware diagnostics. Here's a free listing of tests that I recommend: Hardware Diags

You can try updating the 3rd party drivers below - but be aware that HP will load extra drivers for storage controllers, so you may not be able to update most/all of them. Still, it's advisable to try. Here's a listing of storage drivers that HP loads up on one system: HP DV4 Drivers

3RD PARTY DRIVERS PRESENT IN THE DUMP FILES
- Create a System Restore Point prior to doing any of this. DO NOT mess with the drivers themselves - leave the Windows\System32\drivers directory alone unless we specifically direct you to it!
- Please either update the older drivers from the device manufacturer's website - or uninstall them from your system. Reference links are included below.
- DO NOT use Windows Update or the Update Drivers function of Device Manager.
- Please feel free to post back about any drivers that you are having difficulty locating.
- Windows Update exceptions may be noted below for Windows drivers.

26 memory dumps - that's gonna take a long time!!!
lol

Righto, going to do the driver updating and windows update and run the hardward diagnostics and I'll get back to you.

The memory test I ran was Memtest...resulting in the BSOD.

Thank you!

Prime 95 - ran for about 10 minutes before crashing!! Not a very stable system at all.

Other video tests ran also for about 5-10 minutes before crashing.

Pretty sure it's a hardware problem. Any ideas?

Thanks.
