I started getting the BSOD on Saturday. I have run a full Microsoft Security Essentials scan (over 3 hrs) with no errors. I ran a diagnostics and all hardware (including memory) passed the the test. I have restored to a 3/19 version with no success. I am able to boot in safe mode but I cannot access the internet even in Safe Mode with Networking setting.

I have not installed any new software since I uploaded 2011 QuickBooks on March 9. I have not added any new hardware. I saw some other BSOD posts here and mention of gaming related BSOD. I was playing Rollercoaster tycoon on Friday night but it seemed to run and close fine.

Below is my pc info and problem report. I am also attaching the minidump file. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Morgan,

Thanks for the quick response. I thought I already attached the file but now see I need to change it to an acceptable format. It's attached as a zip file.

I am unable to access the internet to download and run the files you requested.

Here's answers to the info requested:
OS - Vista/ Windows 7 ?
Vista

· x86 (32-bit) or x64 ?
64-bit

· What was original installed OS on system?
Vista

· Is the OS an OEM version (came pre-installed on system) or full retail version
(YOU purchased it from retailer)?
OEM

· Age of system (hardware)
approx. 3 years

· Age of OS installation - have you re-installed the OS?
preinstalled, no

· CPU
Intel Core2 Duo CPU E7500 @ 2.93GHz (2)

· Video Card
I don't see anything for the video card. Display adapter is Intel G33/G31 Express Chipset Family

· MotherBoard
· Power Supply - brand & wattage
I am not sure what these are but I purchased this computer new from HP in May 2008 or 2009 and have not had any previous problems, service, changes, upgrades since then. They are OEM for this model.

· System Manufacturer
HP Pavilion Desktop a6750t

The file you uploaded only contained the memory dump. Please follow the directions from the link in my previous post on how to upload a jcgriff2 report. Your BSOD is saying that your Norton caused the crashed. I would like for you to uninstall Norton for right now. You may use MSE in its place.

Please enable driver verifier - http://www.techsupportforum.com/for...-windows-7-and-vista-bsod-related-473665.html

You've had 6 BSOD today alone. They are all exactly the same thing. Please follow the instructions from my post above about uninstalling norton. After norton is uninstalled your BSOD should stop.

You may use the Norton Removal Tool to help make sure everything gets removed.

Please run a CHKDSK on your hard drive - Disk Check - Windows 7 Forums

I've been having trouble removing Norton Anti-virus. The removal tool says I need to uninstall Symantec first. I actually thought I had removed Norton when the OEM subscription ran out (and there is no Norton folder in Program Files). Since then I've used McAfee and Symantec endpoint protection as they were free downloads from my college website (the school switched from McAfee to Symantec).

Anyway, when I try to run the Norton Removal Tool, it says I must first unistall Symantec using UNINSTALL. When I try to do that, I get an error saying that the Windows Installer Service cannot be accessed. I've tried downloading a new Windows Installer Service and I get an error saying this operation cannot be performed in safe mode.

Any suggestions on how to get rid of NAV and Symantec?
