Hello everybody.

I have had these BSOD almost since I installed Seven.
I used WINDBG myself to interprete those minidumps, and that helped me to search on the web.

While searching on the web, I saw lots of people complaining about similar issues with similar dlls involved, but I didn't found how to solve this.

I completely uninstalled ATI software, and reinstalled the standalone display driver, but the problem is still here.

All my drivers are up to date, including those of the graphic card.

I enabled memory remap yesterday, but it didn't change anything (I suspect a RAM-related issue, but I'm not sure).

I attached the files you asked for. The perfmon report is in French, so feel free to let me know if you need a translation of some part or another detail.

Thanks by advance for your response.

Hi -

The 15 BSOD dumps are primarily video related and most name ATI video drivers as the probable cause.

I believe these old webcam drivers may be playing a part in the BSODs as they are video related. The drivers need to be updated or the devices removed as the drivers all pre-date Windows 7 RTM -

One item I forgot about - remove Daemon Tools/ Alcohol 120. A driver common to both sptd.sys is a card carrying-member of the BSOD club. sptd.sys is a big problem in both Vista and Windows 7 systems.

Hi Felix -

You are most welcome.

Let's disable the driver from starting -

1. Create a system restore point
START | type rstrui | create restore point

2. Open REGEDIT -
START | type regedit

- Locate the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services

- scroll down to synusb64
- 2x-click on the "folder"
- locate "Start"
- 2x-click on the blue icon next to "start"
- change DWORD to 4 (four)

Hello,
I followed these steps, and I directly ran the driver verifier instead of

waiting for a possible BSOD.

I ran the driver verifier for more than one day, and I didn't get any BSODs, but

I noticed some glitches that weren't when it was off :

- Little noise glitches from time to time when playing a streaming video

(youtube, etc)
- Reduced performances when playing games

I disabled the driver verifier about 30 minutes ago, and my PC froze in the following 15 minutes (I didn't wait for the actual BSOD to show)

I opened the dump in windbg, and it's different from the other ones. I let you check that.

Thanks by advance,

Felix

Hi -

The lone dump bugcheck -

0x124 = WHEA = Windows Hardware Error Architecture. Probable cause = unknown hardware failure.

Info on 0x124 - http://www.sevenforums.com/crash-lockup-debug-how/35349-stop-0x124-what-means-what-try.html

The only driver I see out of place -
Code:
[font=lucida console]
spqb.sys Sun Oct 11 16:55:14 2009 (4AD24632)
[/font]
Do you have any virtual devices, e.g., Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120, etc... installed? If so - remove it.

Regards. . .

Sorry for the double post but I forgot one thing.

I had, twice, a different type of bug (before and after I posted here)

The PC suddenly ran very slowly, like one frame in 5 seconds.
The screen turns to black, 2 seconds later the cursor appears again and some icons appear progressively. I can still close and open programs, but it was like I suddenly had a 400Mhz processor with 32Mb Ram. Few seconds after, the screens turns to black again and the "cycle" restarts over and over. I managed to reboot and it went back to normal.

They appear to be CPU, mobo related, but I cannot say with certainty. When hardware failure is present, the information in the dumps cannot be relied upon 100%.

Hi,

Run these hardware stress tests if you haven't already.

FurMark - Instructions:

Download from here: http://www.ozone3d.net/benchmarks/fur/
- If you have more than one GPU, select Multi-GPU during setup
- In the Run mode box, select "Stability Test" and "Log GPU Temperature"
Click "Go" to start the test
- Run the test until the GPU temperature maxes out - or until you start having problems (whichever comes first).
- Click "Quit" to exit
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/100352-cpu-stress-test-prime95.html (run the Blend test as well as the Small FFT test)

Furmark tested successfully, no issues (1680x1050 with 4x MSAA and then 1280x1024 with nothing)
GPU max temp : 61° C
Prime95 Blend test ran for 2 hours, no errors again. The Small FFT is running right now.
I ran Memtest86+ like 3 weeks ago, no problems were found too.

Hi -

The bugcheck on the latest dump -

0x7e (0xc0000094,,,) = thread threw an exception - 0xc0000094 = illegal program instruction - division by zero. ATI named the probable cause.

I would recommend again as I did in post #3 on 20 September 2010 that your webcam drivers be updated or the device removed as it may very well be involved -

The 15 BSOD dumps are primarily video related and most name ATI video drivers as the probable cause.

I believe these old webcam drivers may be playing a part in the BSODs as they are video related. The drivers need to be updated or the devices removed as the drivers all pre-date Windows 7 RTM -

Hercules Dualpix Exchange webcam driver - http://ts.hercules.com/eng/index.php?pg=files_faq

Suyin USB 2.0 Webcam - go to your system manufacturer's support site for updates

If BSODs persist after the webcam is taken care of, run the Driver Verifier -

SynUSB64 is not a webcam driver. It's a driver for a security dongle for an audio production software (Steinberg Cubase 5)
I took care of the other drivers.
I'm gonna re-run the driver verifier. The last time, I ran it for about 2 days

Thanks !
