Hello all, I've recently attempted to clean all spyware off of this machine running Windows ME. I've ran spyware scans using the latest definitions of Ad-aware, Spybot, and Hijack this. I've also attempted to delete certain .dll's that I read were malicious. But I'm still getting a browser pop-up about every 5 minutes. If my default browser is IE, the popup goes to some type of ad rotation including URLs such as: http://offers.shopathomeselect.com/agentinstall.asp?id=bm1004, http://z1.adserver.com/w/cp.x;rid=52;tid=2;ev=1;dt=3;ac=29;c=48;nc=1, and http://www.partypoker.com/index20100_np.htm?wm=2574506. If my default browser is Firefox, the popup goes to the address "%1" which in turn loads mozilla.org. Here is my HJT log, in which I can't find anything that would be causing these popups:

Please consider moving to IE6...as IE5 is full of security flaws.

Before attacking an adware/spyware problem with hijackthis make sure you have already run the following tools. Download and update the databases on each program before running.

• Ad-Aware® SE Personal Edition
  *Note* For Ad-AwareSE also install the VX2 Addon Cleaner To run this tool once Adaware is updated click on Add-ons in the lefthand column. Select VX2 Cleaner V2.0 and click Run Tool. Click "OK" , then, if something is found, click "Clean" as in the directions given. Click "Close", and exit Ad-Aware.
  
• Spybot Search & Destroy
• CWShredder

Also make sure you are using the the latest version (1.99.1) of HijackThis and it's installed in it's own folder on the root drive. (C:\HJT)

Make sure you run CWShredder and the others.

Once it has finished save the activescan log. Then post that log in your next post along with a new hijackthis log.
