I updated an older computer to Windows XP and now both CD-RW drives will not function even tho when checking device manager it says everything is ok
What have I done to cause this??
Computer is a HP Pavilion 8655C
Drive D is a LG-CD-RW CED-8083B
Drive E is a Liteon CD-RW LYN4855
I do not have any of the original software and this was a full install of XP
Thank you

You checked for a disk left in a rom?
Unplug one of the drives and try
Open up the side to try and determine where the clicking sound is originating from.
I tried this advice and the drive worked, it appeared the drives were set to cable select and I changed them to Master & Slave and everything seems to be working OK
Thanks for your help.
