Hi, I had bootmagic installed on a partition (fat32) on my hard drive and during the installing of red hat linux as a second OS (windows xp being the one already installed) i deleted the partition containing bootmagic, i know it was a big mistake, but now when my pc boots , it says that it cannot find files of bootmagic....obviously. Therefore, I tried to reinstall it, but it told me that i needed to find the previous installed version, which i cannot do.

Is there a way to reinstall BootMagic or even remove it complety?

(when i say remove it's because the computer still tries to boot from bootmagic , which i don't want)

thanks for any reply

I had a very similar problem a couple of years ago and to resolve the issue I used the command to reformat the MBR (master boot record).

If only I could remember the command, you might try that.

If my memory comes back I will repost the command.
