When I start my pc it powers on and goes thru the beginning steps gets to the screen asking for my password then either the picture on my desktop pops up and nothing else or automatically starts to shut down. I have tried going in through safe mode but it sometimes goes past the password screen and just the desktop pic comes up or it automatically starts to shut down, saving my settings etc. What can I do?

Can you boot in Safe mode? try checking for viruses. google for some trial versions like esetnod32,avast,avira and etc.
I cant boot up in safe mode either. I type in my password and as soon as it says loading personal setrtings it then starts to log me off and says saving personal settings and just goes back to the sign in screen. It doesnt turn off the pc just wont let me log in and boot up. I have tried safe mode, chkdsk /r, bootfix and still nothing is working. I dont know what else to do. I dont want to reload OS if I dont have to altho a lot of my stuff is backed up on an external harddrive I never backed up my music to it so I dont want to lose it if I dont have to.
Ok. If your experiecend and qualified, I would add a another harddrive with a OS on, and use your current Hard disk as a slave. Therefore eabling you to go on it and remove all the files you want. Then switch the Harddrives again and start a reinstallation
