Recently I went through the process of plugging up a couple of hard drives out of a machine in order to save some files off of them and reinstall windows. However, upon replacing the hard disks in the machine, the computer will still post, but takes longer to do so, and then when it passes the POST screen will simply give me a blinking underscore in the top left of the screen indefinitely. Machine specs would help to troubleshoot this one.

What kind of hard drives (sata or ide)with brand names included please?

How do you have the hard drives hooked up (if IDE, master or slave and where on the ribbon cable) and when something else is on the same ribbon cable, please indicate what that might be?

One WD 80g hard drive, one Seagate 160g, both on ide channel, both on cable select and have been working before. Nothing else is on the ribbon cable, I kind of believe it's more the motherboard though
