I'm new to the world of laptops, but I have a IBM Thinkpad380XD. The thing can't be too outdated, afterall it's a Pentium, has a good size hard drive, modem, CD-rom and built in subwoofer. Anyway, it has a SVGA monitor but says the adapter is a Standard PCI Graphics adapter (VGA). THe monitor says Laptop Display Panel 800x600 resolution but I can't get the resolution to more than 640x480 which is kind of blurry. I'd probably be able to read it at 800x600. Can anyone tell me why I can't get it to more than 640x480?? Hope I saked in the right forum, new here. :ufo:

Yes, I did run it, didn't seem to do anything. Tried to run it again, but then said it was already installed and asked if I wanted to overwrite the existing files.

Welcome to the forums, Robinrow. You have replied to a very old thread- even though it is on the same subject you have the right to start a new thread!

Yes you can fix your problem in most cases. Right click on your desk top and tell us what kind of vidio card your system thinks it has. Tell us please what OS you are running, and it would be superb if you knew what kind of video adaptor you really have.

Even if you don't know all that stuff, please write back and we will get you going one way or another.

Hello there ,was anyone going to reply ?
Sorry for the slow response, the thread got lost because of what I feared and told you- you replied to an ancient thread instead of starting a new, all us regulars knew the original problem had allready been solved and didn't bother opening it up after being familiar with the header.

Anyway, go hereand download your driver please and have a nice day.

Click on "drivers" and it will guide you, read carefully. I can't link you to the specific driver because you didn't tell us your OS.
