hey everyone. im a 22yr old comp.sci student going for my b.a and i also do pc repairs on the side, so embarrasing as this is i just have to ask if anyone can help me with my ASUS laptop lol here goes...

i downloaded a virus unknowingly about a week ago, and symptoms got progessively worse until im at the point im at now (stop errors, and generally unusable- Cant boot in Normal Mode at all anymore, Cant boot the Recovery Console in any mode, just Safe Mode only)before i was able to clean it (i was on vacation for a week) , i would get 0x08, 0x8E, 0x07 and 0x7E stop BSOD errors when the rare occurance of booting fine into normal mode would happen.

at that point, i was able to boot normally 2 out of 10 times. I cant boot windows now without SESSION3_INITALIZAION_FAILED bsod with the 0x6F STOP error, and then everything restarts.

I ran anti-virus, uncovered and cleaned all of the viral issues thinking that was the root of the problem.
So im getting a session3_initalization_failed 0x000006F STOP error whenever i try booting into normal mode.

I also ran a system diagnostic tool, and it said that i had 7 system crash dumps were caused from ntoskrnl.exe.

how can i get back into xp normally? i did some research, its my understanding ntoskrnl.exe is a very important boot file. perhaps the virus altered it causing my blue screen? but then why can i boot safe mode?

i am also getting blue-screened when i try running the recovery console in any mode.

so if anyone can help i would greatly appreciate it, im having alot of trouble with this one!

Hello Matty718,

I ran anti-virus, uncovered and cleaned all of the viral issues thinking that was the root of the problem.
Do you mean the anti-virus did all the uncovering and cleaning, or did you perform some manual uncovering and deleting as well?
