Blue Screen Power State Failure

2667 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  jcgriff2
Just recently I began getting a blue screen with the words Power State Failure, mainly while browsing the internet, sometimes with other programs open, sometimes not. I wish I had more information than that but it restarts the computer so quickly I barely have time to read the rest of the information, though when it happens again I'll update this. I was hoping you guys may know more about it and possibly have a fix.

I'm running Windows 7 64 bit--if you need more info, let me know. Thanks!

Excuse the lack of details:

OS - Windows 7
· x64
· OEM
· Have had it 3 months and never reinstalled OS, so OS has been installed 3 months.
· AMD Phenom II x4 940 3.0ghz
· ATI Radeon HD 4670
· MotherBoard -- not sure (where would I find it?)
· Power Supply -- not sure (where would I find it?)
Thanks! I followed the instructions and the files are attached.

Hi -

All 5 kernel dumps named the same probable cause -
Code:

The drivers must be updated. Use beta versions if necessary -
M-Audio --> http://www.m-audio.com/index.php?do=support&tab=driver#tabs

Updates needed for these drivers, especially Asus 2005 ATK0110 -
Code:

Update your Cyberlink installation.

I would also advise removal of McAfee Internet Security --> http://jcgriff2.com/A-V_Removal_Tools/McAfee_Removal.html

Follow the above suggestions and see if BSODs persist. Please let me know how you make out.
