Blue Screen of Death

I got this error message today...

Stop: 0x0000008e (0xc0000005, 0xbf83F0F1, 0xF341ABB0, 0x00000000)
Win32k.sys address BF83F0F1 Base at BF800000, Date stamp 422511a2.

Please help.

Most likely you have faulty ram. Try a different stick of ram or if you have more then one stick try one stick at a time to figure which ram it is.
more info is needed. when does the error appear? do you get the blue screen of death all the time? you can try testing out your ram for any errors and see if that helps fixes your problem.

download memtest86 from www.majorgeeks.com and put it on a cd or floppy. then restart your computer and go into the bios. there change the first boot device to floppy or cd, depending if you put the program on a cd or floppy. save settings and exit the bios.

then the computer should boot to memtest86 and the program should begin testing your ram for any errors. make sure memtest86 goes for about a minimum of 10passes and see if it detects any errors with your ram.
