Blue Screen of Death

I recently put in a new PSU and have been getting BSODs every few days. I have NEVER got one on this computer before so I'm fairly sure it's the PSU. Is there a reason that an incorrectly installed PSU could cause a BSOD? I put the exact same cables in the same place as they were in the old PSU and I put insulating tape on the ends of all spare cables, just to be safe.

Why did you replace the psu? What wattage and brand is the new
psu? What wattage and brand was the old psu? What are your system
specs?
I replaced the PSU because it wasn't good enough for my computer - it kept cutting out every so often (it seems like I traded power cuts for BSODs...). My new PSU is an X-Power 700W, not a well known brand but I got it for a bargain. I don't know the brand of the old one but it was 350W.
