Blue screen error

I finally found a driver for the prolific chip set for the vista OS.

I am using Vista home premium (same problem with Vista Ultimate but that computer bit the dust)

My problem is when I try to run HRD (Ham Radio Deluxe) V4 or V5, I get a blue screen error.

Here is the Technical information:

*** STOP: 0x00000100 (0x00000004, 0x8062E3D2, 0x00000000,0x87cdce10)

*** wdf01000.sys - Address 8062E3D2 base at 806D000, DateStamp 47919015

Any help is appreciated.

Bugcheck 0x100 = invalid loader block

wdf01000.sys = Microsoft WDF Dynamic - Kernel Mode Driver Framework Runtime; updated via Windows Updates.

Timestamp 0x47919015 = Sat Jan 19 00:52:21 2008, which is Vista SP1. Is SP2 installed? SP2 may have retained the SP1 timestamp; not sure.

The FAQ info for Ham Radio Deluxe says "Windows 2000 and higher"; nothing specific for Vista SP2.

I did find troubleshooting page for Vista installs, although BSODs not mentioned - disable/ remove security during installation -

Ham Radio Deluxe > Support > Installation Problems

Uninstallers (removal tools) for common antivirus software - ESET Knowledgebase

Try running HRD at elevated admin level - RIGHT-click on HRD icon, select "Run as Administrator"

Regards. . .
