Block downloading exe files from internet

I have installed Fedora 7..I like to block downloading exe files from internet...So i have googled and got some information,it said that squid can be configured to block downloading the specified extension..Still i am new to linux i couldn't understand properly..So can you pls explain me to block downloading exe files...

Hi,

I haven't had to put together a proxy for my home yet, but that is a project I am working on. I might have a look at squid-cache.org, it looks like it really has some good info.
