This is the last time I download a torrent from piratebay. Came back from work tonight to find that my computer(which doesn't have antivirus) was infected with malware. Everytime I try to open an exe file, i get a popup windows error saying that the file is infected with the W32/Blaster.worm This "security software" is constantly trying to get me to run scans so when I finish and want to remove the threats, I have to buy the software first.

Internet explorer is the only thing that seems to be working. I've googled all that I can but can't seem to find any removal tools for Windows 7. I've also found that it is more likely that I just have malware that tries to get you to buy the spyware removal software but only downloads the actual worm if you do buy it.

I've checked all of my installed programs and processes but haven't found anything that can fix this without some kind of patch or removal tool. If anyone has any suggestions, PLEASE let me know.

PS: I know I'm an idiot for not having antivirus software and for even getting the virus, but I plan on buying norton 360 on my next paycheck and on being more careful about what I download.

Hi

Did you manage to run our DDS scanner - it would be ideal if I could see a log.

Download DDS and save it to your desktop from here or here or here.
Disable any script blocker, and then double click dds.scr to run the tool.
  • When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:
    1. DDS.txt
    2. Attach.txt
  • Save both reports to your desktop.

Please include the following logs in your thread:
  • Contents of the DDS.txt posted as text in your reply
  • Attach the Attach.txt to your post by clicking the Manage Attachments button under Additional Options>Attach Files on the composition page. Browse to where you saved the file, and click Upload.
