Hi,

As the title suggests, my PC seems go hang on boot for no apparent reason. It kicks up, my keyboard lights come on, then it freezes on a black screen (with a very small strip of distorted colour on the top of both my monitors) after showing the asus boot screen.

Self build:

asus P7P55D
intel i7-860
diamond 5870 vid card
coolermaster cm 960 II case
Intel X25-M 80GB SSD
WD black caviar 500gb HDD
OCZ 2x2gb 1333 DDR3 ram
Corsair VX550W 550W PSU
Liteon 24x DVD writer
Windows 7 home premium 64-bit

Quick update; after trying several times, one of the attempts worked, after an abnormal boot time (~4-5 mins vs my normal 30s or less). It did the same thing - hang after showing the asus boot screen, then finally showed the login screen.

Doesn't seem to be any weird startup processes in msconfig.

Off the top of my head I am think that video card can draw 180w of power alone, a 550w psu may run the rig but I would try a 650w quality psu in it
