Look at the F-Prot software. It is a virus-mail scanner. It has a Linux/Unix product that runs on Linux/Unix. Look at the sales literature. It only scan entire files. It doesn't scan packets coming in from the Internet.
Why I am bringing this to your attention is that Bitdefender has a similar Unix/Linux product with similar capabilities.
