I have a new AMD 4000+X2 and the Biostar TF520-A2 rev5.0 motherboard. After installing all the parts, upon power on, it just spins up the fans and drives, no video or anything. The onboard status/error LED's indicate an "abnormal" error, which involves the cpu/chipset according to the manual. All the parts are installed correctly. I tested everything besides the motherboard and cpu in another system, and all works 100%

Clearing CMOS doesn't help. The manual says to reseat the cpu/memory. I reseated both several times, but to no luck. Many different kinds of DDR2 memory tested on board, none of
which work.

Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem with my Biostar TF520-A2. Did you solve your problem?

I ordered a new Motherboard, because I tested many different kinds of DDR2 memory too which don't work.

Thanks

I was having a similar issue on a new build, mine turned out to be the memory was undervolted. It needed 2.1v and the default was 1.9v, after I upped the voltage everything smoothed out. I was about to buy an Asus mobo but luckily I was reading some reviews and their complaint was the limited voltage settings in the bios, which the highest setting would not have been enough for my Corsair to run. Just a thought. Mike

OK... I solved the problem after calling Biostar support. There is a 8pin connector on the Mainboard called JATXPWR2. This connector has to be connected with the PSU.
Even if you don't have a 8pin connector on your PSU, just take the 4pin connector from your PSU and connect it to the 8pin slot called JATXPWR2. Then everything should run.

It turns out the motherboard was DOA. Received new board in about 2 weeks from the egg, powered up perfectly.

The memory i wanted to use in the system was 2.1V, so it didnt work with that memory at first, exactly what I expected to happen. Popped in the bargain-bin 1.8v ram, upped the voltage, worked perfect.

Thats just common sense that you need the ATX4/8pin power connector. The cpu doesn't get any power without that connected. The 4 pin "video" power connection though, I'm not so sure about. I've got a 7300LE installed, and the system works the same whether the 4 pin molex is connected or not.
