Sorry, hit send, I'm on my phone!

I have an MSI 975x platinum power-up edition which I've just updated the bios for in order to make windows 7 install.

I've managed to install 7 and initially it ran fine, but now it seems to turn off randomly and not turn back on properly for a while (turns on for around 10 seconds at a time)

I really don't know what I can do? Is it to do with having flashed the bios or is it windows 7?

Secondly, I also have an Evga gt430 and when it's installed the computer won't boot at all.

Any help on any of this would be really appreciated?

Welcom to TSF

Inorder to help you further we need to know the specs of the pc, please provide brand and model of the following.
cpu
Motherboard
ram
video card
drives
Power supply (Brand, Model, and wattage) This info is on the sticker on the psu.
When the pc shuts down again and you are able to reboot check the temps and vol;ages in bios. This problem sounds like an overheating issue rather then a bios or motherboard problem.

Not sure on CPU? I think intel core 2 duo, but not sure other than that2300.
Motherboard is MSI 975x platinum power-up edition. Ms-7246 ver2.1
Power supply is thermaltake tr2-430w

System temp is 32c/89f
CPU temp is 97c/208f
Strangely CPU fan speed is listed as 0 even though it is spinning. I'm guessing that might be it!
Video card in there is a generic nvidia geforce 7300.
The one I want to use is an Evga gt430

The hard drive is a sata western digital caviar, which is brand new as well

What is the brand and wattage of the psu you are currently using? Try redoing the thermal paste on the cpu. here is a link on how to do it Arctic Silver, Inc. - Instructions
Just click the as5 link and then choose your cpu, make sure to clean the heat sink and fan and the cpu with 90% rubbing alchohol or higher, higher is better and a lint free cloth like a coffee filter.

Hi..All

I have the same strange problem.
I have MSI 975x platinum power-up edition, intel core 2 quad Q6600.
4 GB RAM, My PSU is HEC-400TN-2WX with 400 watt total output power.

I have the last Bios version for my MB which is V7.9

I also got a GT430 card, and when I install it the system Halts, only the MB logo is displayed, and then nothing. The logo remains on my screen and I can not even enter the Bios setup.

Is there any one found a solution to this problem.

Thanks

Please start your own thread! Posting in another thread is considered rude. It is confusing and makes it difficult to assist.
That being said, you are using a junk underpowered PSU.

I'm sorry for that...

All I meant that this problem is the same as mine, so I asked here if there was a solution found.

I know that I should better made a new topic, but I thought knowing first the solution in this case would save much time as someone here would knew the answer.

again, so sorry
