Hi all,

I am looking to build or buy (preferred) a very cheap computer that is also small. I want to run a very simple FTP application that will do routine backups of my website to an external Hard drive.

The idea is this will be automated and not need any input from me and just sit out the way. It needs to run Windows XP ideally (even though its no longer supported).

I have thought about Raspberry Pis but I dont want to spend a great deal of money on something I will have no use for if this doesnt work or get used. I was thinking of a thin client but wasnt sure if that would be good enough. Any suggestions of anything Ive missed would be great.

Anther option:
Dell Inspiron Micro Celeron J1800 Win10 Miniature Desktop (2GB/32GB SSD) $149.99 - Techbargains
On sale right now for $150. Probably won't run Windows XP but could be used with another OS or just leave Win10 on there.

You could also go for an older refurb mini-desktop. Micro Center sells them and they're cheap. I've gotten a few for people who on a strict budget and they've been great.

Something like this for $99:
Lenovo ThinkCentre M58 Windows 7 Professional Desktop Computer Refurbished 617605 - Micro Center
