Which is the best brand computer?

All of the top brands: Dell, HP, Gateway, etc are all about equal as far as reliability depending on who's report you read.

All OEM's are about the same. They all use low to medium quality components and are not upgrade friendly.
Have you considered building your own? It's not difficult and all the assistance you could ever require is available on this forum for free 24/7.

Is HP easy to upgrade? I heard somewhere that only HP manufactured hardware can be used in HP computers. Is that correct?

That's not true (in most cases) however OEM systems can have limitations to what can be upgraded and may not be as easy to upgrade as a self built system.

HP's are just as upgradeable as any other OEM. Those upgrades are basically limited to adding more RAM and possibly the GPU but a PSU upgrade is almost always required with the PSU.
Basically, OEM PC's are not a good value per dollar.
