yes I downloaded, 3dmark 2003, thanks. But I only scored 5600. isn't that awfully low? on maxpc.com my video card rated 200% lower than the radeon 9700 but I have a 9800. does anyone know what might be my problem?

well 5600 may not be that low but if you look at my sys. specs I should be in like the top 5-10% but I'm nowhere near. I have the latest bios driver(1010) and the latest video driver (catalyst 3.6). is there anything I'm missing from the equation?

I have 2X 512mb of pc3200 running in dual channel, 400mhz, linear. not too sure what linear is. and I'm not sure where to go to make sure my fsb is running at 800mhz, I would assume the default would be but you never know.

Yes I placed the memory in the 1st and 3rd slots. as far as brand I'm not too sure. I bought them from motherboard express.com but I don't see where the brand is. I don't know if the memory is matched. It says that it's running in dual , linear mode. the only benchmark test I've run is 3dmark. what site can I get the sandrasoft, and is that specifically for ram?I'm not trying to o/clock but where do I manually put in my presets. My BIOS must be different than it's supposed to because wherever someone tells me to go to BIOS to do something 9 times out of 10 I can't find it.
Although I did see where my AGP aperature was set to 64mb so I'll have to change that to 128.
as far as my RAM brand, when I ordered it online I didn't specifically ask for Kingston or Corsair so I'm sure they gave whatever would pass the bench test before shipping( I was impressed with that, they actually tested my mobo and ram together before they shipped it, I wish more companies would do that.)
oops I forgot I bought my cpu through motherboardexpress also and they benchtested that all together too.
