At the office the phone cable is connected to a Netgear DM111PUSP modem, connected to that modem is a Belkin N+ Wireless router and a Cisco 8-port switch. The computers which are connected to the net via a wire go through the switch and the computers connected wirelessly are connected to the N+ router.

The N+ router has the option to connect an external hard drive to it, how do I access this drive via the computers that are connected to the switch?

If the drive is in NTFS format will Macs be able to access without additional software?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to TSF!

The Belkin routers manual would address what the default share name is and that is how you would access which is by its share name. Usually you need to setup user access to it. Connected wired or wirelessly doesn't matter. Both should be able to access as well as the Macs.

Since you didn't state what model of Belkin I can't advise any further.
