This one is strange. I'm working on this win 2000 computer that recently got the w32.welchia.worm virus. I flushed the virus and it is gone but I have 3 instances of svchost.exe running and the yahoo and msn messengers will not connect. I am on the verge of re formatting but if anyone has dealt with this in the past couple days... please speak up!!!

I think the three SVCHOST instances you're worrying about are a Red Herring, that seems to be normal for three W2K machines here, and they have no problems. :) Stop looking there and you might make progress...

You might have a point, but my win2k machine only has one svchost running.

It would have been quicker to re format.

I ran the worm fix allready but thank you.
