Battlefield 2 Vista Problem or not?

I installed BF2 on my 64 bit system couple days ago and installed latest 1.41 patch and everything seemed to be fine except for the fact that im using a 22 inch wide screen monitor and it doesn't fill it but other than that everything worked fine until...

I went into the multiplayer and scrolled through the list and picked a server (i even tried the "64" servers). and sometimes ill see a split second box that will say like joining server. but it never does, i hear the music and it goes down like its ready to load the map and play the map music while im joining but it never gets that far.

the music will die down and the screen will stay on the server list screen and nothing happens after that. so im guessing it freezes. I have no idea what to do now, I run it under admin, i tried running it under different compatibility modes and still nothing.

BTW i can play BF2 single player just fine. I just can't seem to either connect to the servers or my BF2 itself won't load them or it freezes while trying to load the server I dunno what the problem is anyone have any advice?

Maybe it´s your firewall or virus programs that blocks it. Enable battlefield 2 in the firewall and the virus programs if u haven´t already done so.
nope not firewall problem even turned it off and tried it nothing.

tried the whole no cd key fix thing dint work or at least couldnt get it to work.

and as far as i know i have no anti virus software installed.
I have the same thing going on, built a new pc and put VISTA 64 home on it, and bf2 wont load multiplayer, it just freezes up, No antivirus turned on, firewall opened for the game. Single player plays like a dream, running the game with compatibility for XP sp2 and as admin for no improvement? any ideas?
