Battery Dead - HP Dv7

HP sucks. I will never buy another computer from them again. I've had so many problems with this 1000 dollar piece of crap.

I got an indicator that I should replace my battery in Win 7. The battery life got worse and worse till suddenly it said plugged in, not charging. Is there anything I can do to revive the battery? I tried the removing windows 7 battery driver thingy from device manager but that didn't work either. It's at 87% and it stays there as long as I keep in the charger. I haven't tried taking out the charger cause I'm afraid it'll completely be drained.

Anything I can do to fix it or make my battery better?

Hi An Alien,

May I ask do you have any warranty with HP? I remember working on a computer once, forgot the brand name of the computer.....doesn't matter. It had a similar problem to yours where no matter what battery I installed on the computer, the computer says to replace the battery. After rigorous troubleshooting, it turned out to be a connection on the motherboard. I guess the battery connection that is connected to the motherboard or something. I called the manufacturer of the computer, ship them the laptop, and they replaced the motherboard. Afterwards, the computer worked fine and the battery worked successfully as well.
I've had an extremely bad experience with HP also. My $1000 dv7 laptop had a screen problem suddenly all by itself. It straight lines coming down that discolored the screen and I sent it to them. I called them about it and they told me it was going to cost me $400 to fix it! I told them that was to much and they said that I could buy a new laptop. Later they called and gave me a deal of $300.. I said no thanks and asked for the laptop back. I had an extended 2 year warranty and they didn't cover the problem. They said it was MY FAULT for SPILLING something in/on the screen. If something spilled on the screen, how would the lines suddenly appear outta no where and the number of lines grew from just two into four lines on my right side of the screen over 3 week time period so it couldn't have been a spill. They say that it was user negligence and that is not covered under the warranty. I will NEVER buy another computer for HP again. This is my first and last laptop from HP.

I need to show you guys pictures and tell me if it really looks like a spill or not.

And they won't fix any other problem under warranty until I get the $400 repair so I've been using my laptop for a while with this annoying screen problem and now I get another problem which require an expensive fix.
