I am having problems with my mouse on my computer. It keeps turning off, so I got a new mouse, that one turned off as well. I asked my friend about it and he said it was a bad pin on a mother board. Is this the case? Can anyone give me any information, because this mouse disconnecting every couple minutes is very irratating.

I am using a custom made computer than runs Windows XP.

try a cmos reset
turn the computer off
remove the power lead from the back
take the side off
remove the cmos battery
move the cmos jumper from pins 1 and 2 to pin 2 and 3 and the back to pins 1 and 2
replace the battery
put the side on
replug in the power lead
boot the computer
