I have a Dell Inspirion 8500 Latitude. When I go to pull up it up I get an error that is on a blue screen that says the following:

STOP: C000021 <Bad Image Checksum> The Image wow32.dll is possibly corrupt. The header checksum does not match the computed checksum.

I have tried rebooting in safe mode but I keep getting the same screen and I do not have the original boot disk for the software.

It may Be HDD Error.. Sector Error I think.....Please Re-format Ur HDD with Deep Format Then Install OS

I am not very computer literate, how do I go about doing this process or is it better to go ahead and let a professional do this?

wow32.dll is a software problem here.
You will need an xp cd disc.
Can you borrow one from a friend or someone you know?
you will need it to enter command prompt
