For as long as i can remember that ive had a BenQ monitor (around 4 years), whenever i plug in anything to the audio jack, the quality is terrible, no bass at all, very treble-y and almost tin sounding. I have tried multiple audio devices in both these monitors and always the same sound quality.

Could be any number of possible causes. The few that I've used, there was a seperate cable used to connect the monitor (speakers or headphone port) to the computer. This was accomplished using a 3.5mm to 3.5mm stereo cable. In which case the issue could be the actual computer output/port, the cable, or the monitor. I didn't notice much if any difference between using the computer headphone port or the monitor headphone port.
