Backing up Outlook E-mails

Hi

It turns out that I have to do a fresh install of XP on my laptop, this will unfortunately erase my hard drive. I have backed up most of the important stuff. I was wondering though, if anyone knows how I can back up my e-mails from Outlook Explorer so they can be put back in my Inbox after I have done the re-install of XP.

Any help much appreciated.

Mat

What is outlook explorer? Do you mean outlook express?

I know that Microsoft Outlook uses pst files. They are essentially like database files which store emails in a format understandable to outlook. Not quite sure whether its the same for outlook express though.

I'm not a big fan of outlook express, but I'm sure there should be an option there to import/export data. You can then export the emails in a format which can be read by the other email client. Copy the exported data onto your new machine and import it using your email client.
Yeah sorry I did mean Outlook Express. Thanks mate, but that option is pretty limited in there. I was hoping someone might know where I can locate a older containing all the e-mails.

1st thing ... you can check out here... cos most of the Outlook express mail and database are store in this directory --> C:\Documents and Settings\"your user login name here"\Application Data\Identities -->
then you will see numbers folders.. you try one of the folder click inside see where is the outlook express folder [Outlook Express], and all the email is there..
