i have the fast dsl on my computer now but it is running very slow. the tech at bellsouth said to see whats running in background when i turn on my computer. HOW do i see whats running? i am not very good with computers and has no idea how to check whats running and what needs to be running. HELPPPP

Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to open up Task Manager

Then click the processes tab. There you will see all processes running in the "background".

When you are looking at the processes, you will see the user name at the top, leave anything with system or local service alone. Everything else, post it, and I will help you as to what to keep running and what you probably don't need and can get rid of it.
